During Yoga and Original Strength classes we will develop reflexive strength while utilizing five fundamental movement patterns in their context of establishing a safe and grounded yoga practice.  Original strength movements which are often referred to as “resets” instantly reset our nervous system back into its natural, peaceful state – at the speed of our nervous system, and with extraordinary simplicity. 

We will explore yoga postures, breathing techniques, and ethical ideas built upon these basic patterns which become a healthy foundation for safe progress in all aspects of yoga practice.  Even Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras urges us towards mastery of the basic thought patterns of the mind, which correlate to our basic movement patterns and our experience of them.  Through these most basic human movements, students of all levels will be able to experience freedom of movement and peace within their mind, through connecting with their own “inner-teacher” of movement, forming a foundation with which to grow into continually deeper connections with one’s intuition and even Self-realization.  Compassion and non-judgement will guide our experience as we uncover the building blocks of yoga postures which are found within every human’s nervous system.

Yoga & Original Strength: The Evolution of the Soul

We were born with a supreme, inner intelligence which we tuned into naturally when we were babies.  Through this intelligence, which is hard-wired into our nervous system, we taught ourselves how to breathe, look, roll, rock, crawl, walk, and even to think and reason.  Spiritual qualities of love, compassion, and unselfishness came to us naturally.  Somewhere along our journey, we can lose part of this foundation of reflexive movement and thought. During classes in Yoga & Original Strength we will explore the five fundamental movement patterns which are located within the human nervous system, alongside fundamental healing thought patterns outlined by Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras.  Using principles of Original Strength which have been practiced by yogis for thousands of years, we will explore yoga postures and breathing techniques built upon these basic patterns.  Compassion, love, and non-judgement will become our tools in working with our innate inner-intelligence as we explore reflexive strength, inner-healing, and an inwardly focused experience of uncovering the building blocks of yoga postures from within.

Astral Journey Meditation

Learning to trust one’s intuition can often be the most difficult part of learning how to develop and use higher perceptions in a practical way for the best and highest good of oneself and others.  

During Astral Journey Meditation, students participate actively and verbally in small group meditation sessions.  Together, we will form a collective consciousness as we share what we each see and experience with our inner intuition, (3rd eye). 

Students gain meaningful and grounded spiritual experience while developing trust in what they see within their own mind.  Participants are often amazed that someone from the group verbalized their own inner experience before they shared it aloud.  Conversely, a student who may doubt their own abilities or feel they “just can’t see it” often finds themselves quickly seeing what others described as they immediately begin to navigate through their own journey with their inner senses awakened, initiated into the astral experience through simply being part of a collective consciousness immersed in the activity.

Work individually with Ganesh Om, a Buteyko Breathing Practitioner, and learn the principles of the Buteyko Breathing Method as they are tailored to your individual needs according to your current level of health, specific health challenges, and your lifestyle. This course consists of 8 weekly, 90-minute private lessons and is designed to give a client a foundation in the main principles of the Buteyko Breathing Method while providing weekly instruction and email support both during and after the program. 

The principles of the Buteyko Breathing Method help us to return to our natural way of breathing - the way we were meant to breathe, and a student of this method can safely approach physical movement / exercise, yoga pranayama, or other spiritual and physical disciplines in a safe, grounded, and holistic way. With the Buteyko Breathing Method healing, strength, health, and spirituality can manifest - through a mindful approach, and without force. This 6-week private course of study was designed to provide a client with practical support and instruction either before or after completing the 8-week course in the Buteyko Breathing Method.  Please note that no commitment to enrolling in the 8-week course is required.  

During each mini-lesson, clients will be led through a customized 25- to 30-minute guided practice session in Buteyko Breathing principles in one of the following areas of practice: breathing techniques, Yoga and Original Strength for better breathing, Yoga Nidra and reduced breathing, humming, chanting, and speaking, or meditation.

Come and learn to enjoy your own breathing and experience how your own breath relates to all areas of spiritual practice in an accessible and approachable forum for private instruction.

KIRTAN: THE SPIRITUAL PRACTICE AND ART OF DEVOTIONAL CHANTING

Kirtan is the practice of devotional chanting, or in other words, the chanting of the Divine names.  Kirtan is a practice from the branch of yoga called, “Bhakti Yoga” or “devotional yoga”.  Aside from Hatha yoga, (postures) Bhakti yoga, (the yoga of devotion) is perhaps the most popular form of yoga today because of Kirtan’s widespread popularity and accessibility.  Kirtan can be practiced by anyone – even those with little to no musical ability or experience.  Chanting is often a favorite practice of individuals who have a devotional or emotional temperament because it allows for freedom of expression without judgement.

During the practice of devotional chanting, music, singing, and mantras give us the opportunity to channel whatever we are thinking and feeling directly into the Kirtan.  As a result, the spiritual vibration of the kirtan transforms our experience of human emotions, (which can be limited and often difficult) into higher, Divine emotions, thoughts, and ideas.  Through Kirtan we can experience and cultivate more inner peace, higher emotions, deep love of our fellow beings, or even Divine, unconditional, love.  During high states of devotion, (these levels do not necessarily require practical experience) deep experiences of joy, bliss, intense ecstasy, and even unity or “Oneness” can unfold within the mind and heart of the sincere practitioner.

To obtain the complete benefits kirtan has to offer, one only needs to give themselves over to the process as best they can, in the moment.  A beautiful voice, or singing the notes accurately might be nice, but this is not at all necessary to grow spiritually through kirtan.  We will chant together and accept one another as we are, forming a collective consciousness where all the benefits will be shared by all in attendance.  Come sing with us, and flourish!
